Born in Norfolk,Virginia

Has been playing drums, and percussion for over 35 years.
Graduated from Granby High School.
Participated in, concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and chorus.
Selected for All city, All regional, and All state, in both band and chorus, also selected to perform with the Tidewater Youth Symphony. Performed with the Virginia Symphony.

Started playing professionally
While in high school, played with the R & B group 35th Street Gang, backing up 60’s artist Lenis Guess, and renowned beach music group, The Original Showmen. Performed and played in band BUBIT (Best unknown band in town).  Performed and recorded with the national artist The States.  Performed and recorded, with the regional band Wild Kingdom, appearing on MTV, also with the Beach Boys, Culture Club, Squeeze, Til Tuesday, the Smithereens, and the Four Tops etc...

Has appeared on recordings by local artists, Karen McDine, Brad Street, and the band Nylon.  Founding member and drummer for local band Butter.
Is playing classic southern rock and blues, with the band the Blue Lords and has appeared and or performed with such notable acts as ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton, Charlie Daniels band, 38 Special, Kansas, The Outlaws, Blue Oyster Cult, Steppenwolf, Jefferson Starship, and others. In addition, Blue Lords song “Walk the Walk” was featured in the independent film Sweet Good Fortune”.

Has also performed with, National rap artist Ton Loc. Performed with Dove award winning, Christian Contemporary artists, John and Marie Barnett. And currently plays in Praise and Worship Band at Vineyard Community Church, in Virginia Beach.
Performed with AnCorRud,(The Reel Thing), Irish Dance School.

Was voted the Best Drummer, two years in a row, on a Hampton Roads Musician poll.
Has been teaching beginner and intermediate, drums and percussion along with electric bass guitar, for the City of Norfolk, at Lakewood Dance and Music Center for the past 8 years.
Also taught Drums, and Percussion, at the Music and Arts Center in Chesapeake for three years. Taught at Audio Light and Musical, in Norfolk. In addition, teaches many private lessons on drums, guitar, bass and keyboards throughout the Hampton Roads area. Has also taught drum workshops for the inner city neighborhoods in various Norfolk Recreation centers. Teaches classical, marching, and ethnic percussion, specializing in, Drum set instruction.

Was a Drama specialist instructor at the Jewish Community Center 2003, summer Camp. And also taught a sound effects class at the JCC for pre-K aged children. Has been Director of an introduction to live musical performance camp entitled, School of Rock, at the 2004-2009 Norfolk Academy Summer Program.


Is active in the direction and consultation of young upcoming bands in the Hampton Roads area.
